Apple Cobbler

This is my grandmothers recipe and so good! She only ever used Macintosh apples – it’s a New England thing.

Apple Cobbler

Apples
½ c sugar
½ t cinnamon

Topping:
1 T butter
½ c sugar
1 egg, beaten
½ c pastry flour
½ t baking powder
¼ t salt

Line a buttered pie plate with sliced apples (level with the top). Sprinkle with ½ cup sugar and ½ tsp. cinnamon. Bake at 350° until about half done. Spread the topping over the apples. Bake about 35 minutes more until the topping is a nice golden brown.
