Snickerdoodles

½ c butter
1-½ c flour
1 egg
½ t vanilla
¼ t baking soda
¼ t cream of tartar
2 T sugar
1 t ground cinnamon

Beat butter until softened. Add about half the flour. Then add the 1 c sugar, egg, vanilla, baking soda, and cream of tartar. Beat until thoroughly combined. Beat in remaining flour. Cover and chill 1 hour or until dough is easy to handle.

Combine the 2 T sugar and cinnamon. Shape dough into 1-in balls and roll in the cinnamon-sugar. Place 2-in apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375, 10-11 min or until edges are lightly browned. Remove from oven and cool.
